Thank you for your participation in the Clean Air Partnership of Middle Tennessee program. By following the simple steps of the CAP Corporate Plan of Action you will be making a difference in the lives of your employees and impacting the quality of air in Middle Tennessee. Because of your commitment, everyone will breathe a little easier.


5 Simple Steps

  • Designate a CAP Program Coordinator at your worksite
  • Notify employees, via flyers, intranet, e-mail or departmental fax, of air quality action days
  • Contact the Clean Air Partnership to customize your company’s Clean Air Program
  • Submit an annual participation report. This report will document the level of participation in your company’s programs.
  • Participate in a one or more federal or state environmental or transportation programs including Best Workplaces for Commuters, Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership, or SmartWay Transport Partnership

Examples of program options your company could consider include programs to support commuter options such as:

  • Carpooling: Rideshare matching*
  • Vanpooling: Reduced parking costs for carpools and vanpools*
  • Transit use: Pre-tax transit benefits
  • Bicycling: Secure bicycle parking
  • Walking: Discounts/coupons for bicycles or walking shoes

Other participation options to consider include:

  • Guaranteed Ride Home program*
  • Employee commuting awards program
  • Telecommuting
  • Compressed work schedules
  • Lunchtime shuttle
  • Onsite amenities (convenience store, dry cleaners, etc.)
  • Concierge services

* Carpool/vanpool matching, the Guaranteed Ride Home program, and other services are available to employees at no cost through RTA.


Take the Clean Air Partnership Challenge

All corporate partners will be recognized for their dedication and participation in the Clean Air Partnership of Middle Tennessee program. The program has three levels of recognition, with the highest designation of Gold going to those companies who make the greatest commitment to reducing air pollution. 

  CAP Participation Levels

Bronze Participation in steps 1 and 2

Reward: Clean Air Partnership award certificate, recognition in newsletter
Silver Participation in steps 1-4, with documentation of the level of participation in your company’s program.

Reward: Silver award certificate, listing on web site, public recognition.
Gold Participation in steps 1-5, with a demonstrated level of reduction in overall contribution to air pollution. Mentor others in program.

Reward: Gold level award, featured in newsletter and on web site, public recognition.
